Today, March 3, domestic pepper price remained stable compared to yesterday and remained at a high level, ranging from 157,000 – 159,000 VND/kg. In January 2025, although export volume decreased by 25.9%, export turnover increased by 25.1%, reflecting strong growth in pepper value in the international market.
Domestic pepper price today
In key localities, pepper price remained stable:
Gia Lai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau: 157,000 VND/kg.
Binh Phuoc: 158,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak, Dak Nong: 159,000 VND/kg.
Last week, domestic pepper prices decreased by 2,000 – 3,000 VND/kg, ending a series of 3 consecutive weeks of increase after the Lunar New Year holiday. The main reason was that the supply from the new crop had just begun to enter the market.

Pepper export situation
According to the General Department of Customs, January 2025 recorded remarkable fluctuations in pepper exports:
Export volume: 12,958 tons, down 25.9% over the same period last year.
Export turnover: 87 million USD, up 25.1%.
Average export price: 6,755 USD/ton, up 68% over the same period in 2024.
Currently, Vietnam exports pepper to more than 30 markets worldwide. Of which, the United States continues to be the largest import market with a turnover of 21.7 million USD, up 8.4% over the same period last year.
The forecast of the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA) shows that global pepper output continues to decrease while consumption demand remains stable. This creates favorable conditions for Vietnam’s pepper exports to reach a record of 1.5 billion USD in 2025.

Lampung black pepper: 7,235 USD/ton.
Muntok white pepper: 9,959 USD/ton.
Malaysia:
ASTA black pepper: 9,700 USD/ton.
ASTA white pepper: 12,200 USD/ton.
Brazil:
Black pepper: 6,850 USD/ton.
Vietnam:
Black pepper 500 g/l: 6,900 USD/ton.
Black pepper 550 g/l: 7,100 USD/ton.
White pepper: 9,900 USD/ton.
Pepper exports to ASEAN markets
Vietnam exported pepper to 4 main markets in ASEAN:
Philippines: 2.58 million USD (-3.3%).
Thailand: 2.19 million USD (+2.8%).
Malaysia: 1.17 million USD (+116%).
Singapore: 0.2 million USD.
